Mid-Tier businesses are shrinking or atleast their share of business in the contracting world is decreasing according to a recent article in Washington Technology. Mid-Tier businesses lost a significant share of IT contracts between 1995 and 2004. One reason for the decrease is the recent increase in mergers and acquisitions of smaller businesses by large companies such as Lockheed Martin or Northrop Grumman. Large companies are competing for and winning many of the contracts that used to be won by mid-tier firms.

Building the IA Offensive Line – By Mickey McCarter – Military Information Technology
The Department of Defense has been making significant progress in recent months to implement various information assurance initiatives, according to DoD Information Assurance Director Robert Lentz.
One of the most promising activities that Lentz refers to is the Cross Domain Management Office, which was created with Dale Meyerrose and the Office of the DNI/CIO.
Let’s see how this works out… One would hope that their would be less redundancy at the very least…
