Companies to look out for in a year or two brought to you by the Maryland Technology Development Corp
I just saw this article on the Washington Business Journal website stating that Maryland Technology Development Corporation (a public/private company which, according to their website, is Maryland's leading source of funding for technology transfer and development programs and entrepreneurial business assistance) "awarded six Maryland Technology companies nearly $450,000 in combined funding."

As for Dockside, I like anything that makes it more natural to interact with computers. Maybe that's what they are looking to do...
One other note is the fact that single person companies (like Nano Solutions) are able to obtain funding to do stuff. Very cool...

- Hygea BioPharma which is working to develop a vaccine against infectious bursal disease virus, or IBDV, in chickens,
- Immunomic Therapeutics which is working to license a protein to use as a novel enhancement for DNA vaccines,
- MobiLaps which is working to provide a suite of technologies that empower Internet service providers to become portals for e-commerce activities among local users and local businesses,
- BCG Wireless which is working to commercialize advanced signal processing technology for use in radio frequency systems and networks,
- Nano Solutions (which only employs one person!) and is working to develop an energy storage device, and
- Dockside Vision which is working to develop a highly visual and interactive information system.
As for Dockside, I like anything that makes it more natural to interact with computers. Maybe that's what they are looking to do...
